How do I export my Timeline from Google Maps?

Android: Settings → Location → Location Services → Timeline → Export Timeline data. You'll get a single Timeline.json.

iPhone: Google Maps app → your profile picture → Your Timeline → ••• → Location & Privacy Settings → Export Timeline data.

Older data: monthly JSON files from a past Google Takeout download (e.g. 2023_MARCH.json) work too — you can mix both formats.

Timeline history is stored on your phone, so the export has to be made there. Then open this page anywhere — the file is read locally in your browser.

Good to know: everything is estimated from phone location data. Gaps, airplane mode, and GPS drift near land borders can misclassify a day — days with no data are shown separately, never silently assumed. This is a personal dashboard, not an official record or legal advice.

The Schengen monitor uses the standard visitor rule: at most 90 days of presence within any rolling 180-day window. If your home base is a Schengen country, only days spent in other Schengen countries are counted.
